Ellis Island Ship Manifests -SS Rosalind - April 11, 1912. Patrick Keough went to the U.S. from St. John's on the SS Rosalind - arriving at Ellis Island on April 11, 1912.
Buried:
It appears that Pat's body was actually sent back to St. John's, Newfoundland so the logical conclusion is that he is actually buried in Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Died:
The Newfoundland Vital Statistics death records states that he was accidentally killed on November 19, 1912, however his headstone says he died on November 16, 1912. The latter date is confirmed by the article below.
From the website - www.downtosea.com - Out of Gloucester. 16th - Patrick Keough, 27, native of Newfoundland, single, was killed on board the steam trawler Spray by being struck on the head by an iron block strap which fell from aloft.
An initial Massachusetts death record states that he was drowned and it gives the impression that his body was not recovered, however a later record states that his death was as a result of a "compound fracture of the skull caused by being accidentally struck by a falling body".
