Notes:
Census:
In both of these early censuses, Mary and her mother, who was widowed and did not remarry, are shown living in New Hampshire. Although Mary married in 1893, no record of her was located in the 1900 US Census.
Census:
In this census Mary gave her marital status as widowed. She was a buyer for a linens store and her "companion" living in the same dwelling was Emily Drury.
Census:
The information recorded in this census is a little confused. It indicates Emily Drury, widowed, was the owner and head of the house. It states incorrectly that Mary, single, was Emily's sister, hence she is recorded as Mary C. Drury instead of Mary C. Fanning. Mary was employed a clerk for a dry goods company. The birth place of both of her parents was given incorrectly as Nova Scotia.
Census:
Mary was still living with Emily Drury, who is noted as being the head and owner of the house.
Mary married Francis R. "Frank" Fanning 7 Feb 1893, Exeter, Rockingham, New Hampshire, United States. Francis was born Abt 1866, Summerside, Prince Edward Island, British North America; died Between 1910 and 1920. [Group Sheet]
