    Surname recorded as Badcock in vital statistic death records. His death record says he was 54 which means he would have been born abt 1858. However his marriage record in 1907 says he was 52 which means he could have been born in 1854 or 1855.

    Evening Telegram - St. John's- Oct 1 1912 - OBITUARY - Mr. Martin Battcock: The death occurred yesterday at the residence of his sister-in-law Mrs. J. Bulger, Carters Hil, of Mr. Martin Battcock, a native of Brigus South. Mr. Battcock was a man well and favorably known in St. John?s. Of a genial and kindly disposition he made many friends and had very few enemies. The deceased was the brother of Rev. Fr. Battcock, PP Holyrood, came here about a week ago suffering from cancer but there being no spare beds in the hospital he could not be admitted. Today the remains were sent to Brigus overland by Undertaker N.J. Murphy for interment. To the bereaved family and relatives the Telegram extends its condolences.     Andre and Natacha; also brother Martin (Kim); sisters Gladys Olvis, Alice (Eugene)
    Benoit, Margaret Szmyd and Christabel Bergbauer; sister-in-law Irene Battcock; and also
    a large circle of relatives and friends. Many thanks to a dear and special cousin and friend,
    Carmel Buckingham. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visiting Hours:
    Tuesday 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and Wednesday 10 a.m.
    - 12 noon, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Thursday, November 22,
    2001, at 9:45 a.m. from St. Piux X Church, Smithville Crescent. Interment to follow at
    Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of ones
    choice.
