Boston Weekly, August 29, 1925 "Patrick Clancey of Chicago, Illinois visited the Hub. He was born at Fermeuse and whildt there he visited with his sister, Mrs. Jackman, Bristol, Connecticut". As far as I can determine the Hub was a nickname that referred to the seat of the Massachusetts government - the State House - located on Beacon Hill in Boston (K.R.).
By analysing the various US records for Jackman families at Bristol, Connecticut, I concluded that the Mrs Jackman mentioned in the Boston Weekly article above was Ellen J. (Clancy) Jackman, wife of Arthur J. Jackman (born at Renews).
Ellen married Arthur J. Jackman Abt 1894. Arthur was born Abt 1871, Renews, Newfoundland; died Abt 1938, Bristol, Hartford, Connecticut, United States. [Group Sheet]

After her husband's death, Gertrude moved into #10 Franklin Street with Ellen Jackman. It appears that Gertrude birth date and these other clues indicate that she was actually Gertrude C. Jackman, daughter of Arthur and Ellen (Clancy) Jackman. The 1949 Bristol, Connecticut directory shows Gertrude had recently remarried - this time to Harvey W. Taylor.
Gertrude married John J. Canning Abt 1926. John (son of Alfred "Alf" Canning and Mary "Molly" Swain) was born 24 Jun 1901, Caplin Bay, Newfoundland; died 11 Jun 1943, Bristol, Hartford, Connecticut, United States; was buried Abt 13 Jun 1943, Bristol, Hartford, Connecticut, United States.
