  In the 1930 US Census, Adam said that he had permanently immigrated in 1922 but it appears that by 1930 he was still not a naturalized citizen. He was living on Walnut St. in Lynn, MA and working as a steam fitter. He indicated he was from Newfoundland but curiously he indicated that his father had been born in Ireland?, while his mother was born in Newfoundland. His wife indicated that she too was from Newfoundland as were her parents. Beatrice indicated that she had entered the US in 1923.
