• Name	Jean Vanexheim
There are several different spelling of this surname. They are likely based on the phonetic renderings of the surname, hence it is was recorded as Van Exan, Van Uxem, Venoxen, Venixan, Vanixon, Vanexheim etc.in various source documents. In most records, John Jr. was usually recorded as Vanexan or Van Exan.
Born	Abt 1788	Ypres, Flanders, Belgium   [1]
The source family tree in ancestry.com says John may have been born in Uxem, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France. However in an old military record, he was recorded as being a butcher from Ypres, Belgium. Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean that was the place where he was born.
