Abt 1827 - 1874  (~ 47 years)

• Name	Mary Anne Murphy
  Born	Abt 1827	Ferryland, Newfoundland   [1, 2]
Approximate year of birth based on age given on the headstone in Holy Trinity RC Cemetery, Ferryland. The priest omitted her address, which is some cases could indicate that St. John's was her home parish.

This headstone appears to be in memory of Mary Anne [Murphy?] O'Brien and James Murphy. The information matches the wife of Patrick O'Brien of Aquaforte. Family	Patrick Brien,   b. Abt 1822, Ferryland, Newfoundland ,   d. 20 Aug 1892, Goulds, Newfoundland  (Age ~ 70 years)
  Married	28 Apr 1844	St. John's, Newfoundland   [3]
Address: Roman Catholic Basilica of St. John the Baptist
This marriage was recorded at St. John's. Patrick "Brine" was noted as being from "Ferland" (sic) but Mary Anne's address was not given. This could indicate that Mary Anne was from St. John's, hence the traditional marriage within the parish of the bride. However, this convention was not followed rigorously by all members of the RC clergy. At the time of their marriage, the address of the bride and groom both gave their address as William's Lane, St. John's.
