| Notes |
- There is an interesting story about Jack and Mary O’Neil Rossiter’s son Tom and their son-in-law Tom Young. Tom Young was shot and killed at the USA border while rum running during Prohibition in the 1930s and Tom Rossiter was charged with defrauding the US Government of $24 Million in unpaid taxes. He smuggled liquor in from St. Pierre and from Barbadoes. He was acquited and finally settled in Halifax where he bought stores for his children. Apparently he made one return trip to Calvert and treated all of his old friends to a night on the town and a night at the Hotel Newfoundland.
