| Notes |
Married:
- His marriage record indicates his occupation was a 'Stewart'. One researcher indicates that he had worked as a 'Butler' at Government House in St. John's.
Immigration:
- Records indicate that John Galbraith,Rose Galbraith, and William O'Rourke, who had been living on First Ave. in Verdun, Quebec, emigrated from there on 11 Aug.1927. Their destination in the US was to John's sister, Mary, who lived in Oyster Bay, New York.
Census:
- In the 1930 US Census, Rose's name is recorded as Frances R. I believe that this may have been due to an misunderstanding, possibly related to her husband who was recorded as John F. Galbraith. The "son" recorded for this couple was actually William J. O'Rourke, son of Rose's (half) brother, Michael O'Rourke. However later records indicate that William referred to himself as William O'Rourke Galbraith. He died on 25 Nov 1983 in Alameda, California, United States.
Residence:
- The information for 1935 was included in the 1940 US Census.
Census:
- This household consisted of John, his wife Rose, and William Galbraith. John gave his occupation as 'Caretaker" in a private home.
Immigration:
- John and Rose, residents and citizens of the United States, indicated that they were traveling from Montreal, Quebec, Canada to Castlebay, Isle of Barra, Scotland to take up permanent residence there. John's occupation was given as "Butler"
